{"id":19530,"date":"2024-07-03T10:41:42","date_gmt":"2024-07-03T14:41:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ieee-pels.org\/?post_type=announcements&#038;p=19530"},"modified":"2024-07-03T10:41:42","modified_gmt":"2024-07-03T14:41:42","slug":"petition-for-nominations-of-pels-adcom-members-at-large","status":"publish","type":"announcements","link":"https:\/\/www.ieee-pels.org\/announcements\/petition-for-nominations-of-pels-adcom-members-at-large\/","title":{"rendered":"Petition for Nominations of PELS AdCom Members-at-Large"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Each year the IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) membership elects six Members-at-Large to the PELS Administrative Committee (AdCom) for a three-year term that begins at the start of the next calendar year. The AdCom includes 18 Members-at-Large with rolling three year terms, so every year six Members-at-Large complete their terms, and six new officers are elected.<\/p>\n<p>The PELS Nominations Committee will draw up a slate of nine or more candidates for the six positions. In addition, our Constitution and Bylaws allow for the nomination of candidates by petition from the PELS membership.<\/p>\n<p>A nomination petition signed by a minimum of 215 Society&#8217;s eligible voting members by Friday, 13 September 2024 shall automatically place that nominee on the ballot for the Member-at-Large election. To allow sufficient time for collection of the signatures, the proposal for the petition, together with a photograph, brief biography (350 words) and candidate statement (150-250 words) should be provided to Liuchen Chang (<a href=\"mailto:lchang@unb.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lchang@unb.ca<\/a>)\u00a0no later than Monday, 5 August 2024. The IEEE staff will then set-up the Society petition website to collect electronic signatures.<\/p>\n<p>The Nominations Committee and the IEEE staff will prepare the ballots for the election of the Members-at-Large November 2024. Please watch for the election notice in your email, and when it arrives, vote promptly according to the instructions for electronic voting.
